Thank you to my friends and followers – part 4

I haven’t written anything for over six months. For various reasons—but now I’m getting restless, and the urge to write has struck me again. 😎🤩🥳
Naturally, a lot of photos have piled up—both from my own trips and from friends—not to mention the many images still stored on my computer that I have yet to share.📸📸📸📸📸
All sorts of things happen in life that can steer you off course or distract you from the ideas you want to pursue. You might neglect them for a while and focus on something else, but the idea remains in the back of your mind, bringing you joy and waiting for its turn.
That’s how it is with my desire to write these stories about the restrooms that both my friends and I come across. 🚽🧻🤦🏼♀️🫣😂
So, I’ve decided to kick off this season of writing by once again thanking all the friends who tirelessly send me photos. In a way, it’s a sign that they enjoy these stories; whenever they encounter a restroom that strikes them as unusual—in any way—they pause, take out their phones, and snap a picture. At the end of the day, they remember and send the photo my way.
Ha!!!! How rich I am to have friends like that!
I have to admit, it’s such a mess—writing a blog post after so many months! 😭😭😭😭
I’d completely forgotten how to use the site; there were updates I didn’t even know about. It was a nightmare. I stared at the screen, the screen stared back at me, and I didn’t know what to do.🫣🤦🏼♀️😂😂
Of course, I also have the Phone a Friend option! 🥳 Danijel V. and Ian R. were kind and patient enough to explain everything to me all over again.
Suzana Ž.
My friend Suzana was so impressed by this public restroom in Copenhagen—its size, elegance, cleanliness, and number of stalls—that it was only at the very end, after she had sent me photos and I asked, “Wait, is that a unisex restroom?”, that she realized she had walked into the men’s restroom! 🫣😂😂

…. yes that was a man’s toilet, at the end 😎
However, I will never understand why public restrooms, or any restrooms for that matter, have to be located underground. What about people with reduced mobility? Or those currently wearing a leg cast? Or perhaps the visually impaired or the elderly who have difficulty walking, especially on stairs…

This toilet isn’t as fancy as the previous one. But it is still clean and tidy.
There is plenty of toilet paper ✅, a hook for a bag or coat✅ , mirror is proper height✅ and certainly there were more than one stall. 🥳☺️
Suzana was in northern Norway this Winter, hoping to catch the Aurora Borealis. Instead of the Aurora, she snapped photos of a nice restroom again. 😎

The toilet appears very clean and tidy—AGAIN !!
The ambiance is truly impressive, with striking lighting throughout the space.
Dejan U.
Among the first photos of friends was the one of my friend Dejan. He visited St Andrews Castle in Scotland and sent me photos of a 16th-century toilet.

And that is how WhatsApp and Viber groups started.😅😅
After I had already published this blog, I remembered that I had photos I had saved two years ago from a website on Facebook. They go perfectly with these photos Dejan took at the castle. 😊So, this is me editing the blog post a few days after it was published 🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️😀

That explains a lot, doesn’t it?
Zdenka and Maurizio S.
My friends Zdenka and Maurizio were on a cruise last fall… again!! 🤦🏼♀️😎☺️ They love it!!🥳🤩😍
In any case, they sent me photos and comments.📸📸🚽🧻 Unfortunately, I lost their comments along the way—I was switching phones, updating it, didn’t update it in time, didn’t save the messages in time… 🥲🙁😣So I’ll write down their comments—from memory. I hope they won’t get too angry. 🥺🫨😞They are good people!! 😍😁😎🥰
In Savona, Maurizio came across only one urinal. Wide open! There was no ladies’ restroom in sight.

In Tangier, a certain toilet struck him as somewhat psychotic. 🫨😖😬😵💫

I don’t blame him.😂😂😂 It does look psychedelic…..
I remember Zdenka’s comment from Gibraltar. ➡️”So, the English—who think they’re the smartest and that everything of theirs is the best. They are constantly nit picking, if something isn’t English. They weren’t much different from the Italians, They thought to hide their misery with cheerful colours! It isn’t exactly clean, either. “

Well, I don’t know what she expected, but she was a very pissed woman. 😂😂😂😂😠😠😡😡
Then they arrived in Marseille, and both of them were impressed by the same toilet. 🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ They both came out of the restroom with photos of the toilet. 🤷🏼♀️📸🤷🏼♂️📷😂😂😂

In the last picture, you can see how the toilet bowl is jammed right up against the wall, 🤦🏼♀️😖😬 yet a small step-stool has been placed inside the restroom.

Presumably so users can climb up and draw on the ceiling.
Sabrina B. Ž.
Talking about drawings on the walls, doors, or any other inappropriate surfaces…..
My dear friend Sabrina can’t stand mindless graffiti on public surfaces; 😡😠 she simply had to take a picture of it to show her anger. 😤😩😡😠 We will never find out what the toilet was actually like??!!

Sven R
My son Sven was in Slovenia this Summer. He was so thrilled by the label on a toilet’s door and the pictures on the wall—including one right above the urinal!—that he had to take photos of them📷😂

Cute, aren’t they??!! 😀
Zdenka S- again
Just before I finished this blog, my friend Zdenka sent me a few more photos from only one toilet. She went on another cruise while I didn’t manage to finish the blog!! How is that possible 😂😂😂😂 She sent me photos from just one toilet—more because of the country the toilet is in than the toilet itself.
From Montenegro. Since I am partly Montenegrin on my mother’s side, naturally I have to include that toilet in my blog. So dear Zdenka it was a good timing!! 🥰😎

Her comment was: although there is only one toilet for everyone, it is original, so it’s ok! 😀

It looks very playful and cluttered, but yes—distinctive.

Watch out, Tito is watching you.
