Signs on the wall

Signs on the wall – 06.08.2024.

Since I got interested in the toilets, I was looking for signs on the walls inside the loos.

Different sizes, different handwriting, you can see they just put it up this morning in a hurry. Some have been written on the paper and glued on the wall, some were nicely framed, funny, serious, interesting, entertaining, imaginative.

My favourite, so far:

Please do not flush

down the toilet

Some of the signs you would rather like not to be on the wall. Because if they are on the wall that means something is broken. You don’t want anything to be broken in the loo!!

I like when I flush the toilet, that’s working. I like when I enter the toilet the floor is dry and preferably clean. I don’t like when I flush the toilet, and the water is coming out of the toilet bowl on my legs and feet. I don’t like when the floor is wet, not sure is it only clean water, or there is leak behind the toilet bowl, that I cannot see, but I can feel on the floor. I don’t like when there is no light in the toilet, when there is no lock on the door.

That is why all the signs can be helpful.

Politely explain something that should go without saying:

Please leave the toilet clean and do not throw pads down the toilet!

Covid time:

We remember the rules: how to wash our hands, for how many minutes, how to cough properly, how to stand 2 m apart, waiting in the line for the free toilet.

On the petrol stations in Italy with twenty or so boots, every other was locked.

In one shopping mall in Trieste, Italy they separated toilets for women-only, on one side of the floor, and for man-only, on another side of the floor. They left it like that since. I still don’t understand why!
